  • FAQ of LiFePO4 Battery
    What is LiFePO4 battery? LiFePO4 battery, or LFP battery, the full name is the lithium iron phosphate battery, which belongs to one kind of rechargeable lithium batteries, battery takes LiFePO4 as cathode materials. For original LiFePO4 have low electric conductivity, many battery manufacturers make efforts on improving original LiFePO4 materials, like nano-technology, metal-doping, carbon-coating etc. Bestgo-Power takes metal-doping and carbon-coating to update original LiFePO4 materials for battery manufacturing. What is the Amp-hour (AH)? The Amp-hour (Ah) is used for describing how much energy that battery can store in. The volume of the constant current (in amps) multiple with time (in hours) then got Amp-hour (AH) as battery capacity. For example, if a Forzatec LiFePO4 cell, marked as "10AH @ 3C discharge, 25°C", it means in 25°C condition, if we discharge this battery with current no more than 30A (10AH, 3C), this battery can offer 10AH energy, like 30A current for 1/3 hour, or 5A current for 2 hours. What is state of charge (SOC)? SOC, short for the State of Charge, is used to describe how full a battery is. When a battery is fully charged, we can say that the SOC of this battery is 100%. SOC can be used to describe how fully the lead acid battery charged, because lead acid battery always need to be fully charged for storage. Later nickel batteries and lithium batteries also take SOC to describe energy reserve. Here is a formula describing the relationship of SOC and DOD, that is "SOC = 100% - DOD". What is depth of discharge (DOD)? DOD, short for the Depth of Discharge, is used to describe how deeply the battery is discharged. If we say a battery is 100% fully charged, it means the DOD of this battery is 0%, If we say the battery have delivered 30% of its energy, here are 70% energy reserved, we say the DOD of this battery is 30%. And if a battery is 100% empty, the DOD of this battery is 100%. DOD always can be treated as how much energy that the battery delivered. For lithium batteries we do not suggest fully discharge them to 100% DOD, because it would shorten the cycle life of batteries. What is self-discharge rate? The self-discharge rate is a measure of how much batteries discharge on their own. The Self-Discharge rate is governed by the construction of the battery. Different types of batteries have different self-discharge rate. What is CC/CV mode? Constant current / constant voltage (CC/CV) charging mode is a effective way to charge lithium batteries. When a lithium battery is nearly empty, we take constant current to charge it. We need to make sure that charging current should be lower than the max charging current that battery can accepted. With constant charing the voltage of battery is slowly gaining up, when battery volt reaches the max charging voltage, charger would make sure charging voltage fixed as "constant voltage" and reduce the charging current. When battery is fully charged this state would be stopped. What is Battery cycle life? Battery cycle life is defined as the number of complete charge - discharge cycles a battery can perform before its nominal capacity falls below 80% of its initial rated capacity. Different types of batteries have different cycle life, and LiFePO4 batteries life time of 2000 cycles are typical. How to extend the battery cycle life? Singal cell is an independent unit which contains a complete chemical reaction environment inside. For nominal usage we need to make sure that cells / batteries are under specified conditions that data-sheet described. For lithium batteries, we suggest to take consideration of working temperature, and do not fully charged to 100% SOC and do not fully discharged to 100% DOD when using, and by maintaining the battery this way the cycle life of LiFePO4 could be effectively extended.

    1 Please read this specification carefully before testing or using the battery, in order to avoid the battery from failure, over-heat, electrolyte leakage, set fire or explosion; 2 In charging or discharging, please apply professional testing equipment; no use of general constant circuit and constant voltage power which is not able to restrict circuit and voltage in order to avoid battery failure and dangers; 3 Please do not put the battery with false direction of [+" [ -" when charging or connecting with the equipment; otherwise the product will suffer from overcharging or over-discharging, and this will lead to battery failure or explosion. 4 Don`t weld the battery directly, no opening of the battery. 5 In order to avoid short circuit, please don`t put together the battery with metal stuff, such as necklaces, coins, barrettes, screws in bag or pocket, no connecting directly the [+" and[-" together with metal or other conductive materials. 6 No knocking, throwing or trampling the battery, not to mention put the battery in washing machines or high compress vessels. 7 Please keep the battery far away from heat source, such as fire, heater; don not store or use the battery under strong sunshine or high ambient temperature more than 60℃,otherwise the battery will set fire or be overheated or failure. 8 Please don not damp the battery or put it into water; please keep the battery dry and be of low temperature in storage. 9 During the period of using, testing or storage, if the battery has been found got hot, expiring abnormal odors, changed color, transformed or in other unusual states, please stop relative handling at once, isolate the battery and keep away from it. 10 If the battery leaked and the electrolyte split into your eye, don`t knead you eye, flush it with clean water at once, go to see a doctor in the case of be serious; if electrolyte spattered on your skin or clothes, please flush it with clean water.

    1. The Charge Index indicates the solar panel charging status into the lithium battery. Please try to face the solar panel side of the power bank to the sunshine when charging. When the red LED lights on, it means the sunshine is adequate and the charging speed is fast enough. After the lithium battery is fully charged, the red LED light will turn off automatically. When the red LED light flashes quickly, it means the sunshine is not so strong and the charging speed is less quickly. When the red LED light flashes slowly, it means the sunshine is weak and the charging speed is slow. If the red LED doesn`t light or flash at all, it means the sunshine is very weak and the charging current is close to zero. Thus the charging is invalid. 2. The power index indicates the power storage status of the lithium battery. When it reads green, the storage remains above 90%. When it reads yellow, the storage remains between 20% to 90%, and the power bank needs to be charged. When it reads red, the storage is less than 20% and the power bank has to be charged so as not to influence the normal usage. When the power runs out, the power index will turn off. It can only be awaken again by being recharged by sunshine. 3. The switch button turns the 5V USB outputs and 12V DC outputs on and off. When it turns on, you can also check the power storage index. To avoid being turned on and off by mistake, and to maintain the normal functioning time, you need to press the button up to 2 seconds continuously. 4. The two USB outputs 5V and can charge cell phone, IPAD, digital camera, PSP, electric shaver, and other home appliances normally recharged by 5V charger. 5. The two round 12V DC outputs with diameter of 5.5mm can power 12V lights, and can also drive other DC12V home appliances if the round plugs match. 6. Be sure not to short circuit any of the 4 outlets, otherwise it will cause irreparable damage of the power bank control unit. 7. If the power bank is not used for a long time, please charge the power bank at least every 3 months to maintain the normal lifespan of the battery pack. 8. Keep the power bank dry and insulated. 9. Keep the power bank beyond the children`s reach. 10. Don't disassemble the power bank by yourself.

    WARRANTY FOR 10W SOLAR POWER SYSTEM WARRANTY 3 year repair, replacement or refund remedy. FORZATEC CO., LIMITED warrants its 10W solar power system ([10W system") to be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal application, installation, use and service conditions. If the 10W system fail to conform to this warranty, then for a period ending 3 years from date of sale to the original end-customer ([the Customer"), FORZATEC will, at its option, either repair or replace the product, or refund the purchase price as paid by the Customer ([Purchase price"). In cases where a subsequent delivery has failed or where a defect was not removed, the Customer has to accept further attempt to subsequent delivery or to repair the defect before he makes any further statutory guarantee claims. The same shall apply in cases when after the delivery or replacement other defects appear. The repair or replacement or refund remedy shall be the sole and exclusive remedy provided under the warranty and shall not extend beyond the 3 years period set forth here-in.
